Flickr Group • We're Here • "The World of Robert Burns"

"Born on Jan. 25, 1759, Robbie Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist. The date is celebrated worldwide with Burns suppers that traditionally include haggis, Scotch whisky, and the recitation of Burns poetry."

You might not be a Burns fan, or a haggis aficionado, but I’ll bet you’ve sung his lyrics at least once in your life. Burns wrote the New Year’s favorite Auld Lang Syne in 1788.
